Sciatic Pain and Lower Back Pain

Sciatica is a symptom of nerve pain that begins in the lower back and moves down through one side of the buttock and down the leg.  People who have arthritis may think this is the same type of condition.  If you have experienced this symptom and wondered what caused it - the main culprit is a disc that has been misaligned from its normal position.  This puts pressure on the radicular nerve and in turn affects the sciatic nerve.  Decompression therapy can usually help alleviate this and minimize the pain associated with sciatica or disc herniation.

You will need a diagnosis from a chiropractor to make sure the symptoms you are experiencing are a result of this type of misalignment and not arthritisNorfolk Chiropractic will be able to assess your symptoms and advise you about the best treatment and physical rehab necessary to relieve the pain.  Sciatic nerve damage usually occurs in people age 30-50, it is not necessarily a result of an accident or injury.  Many times you will begin feeling pain because of the general wear and tear on this part of your body, especially if you commute long distances to work.  Often times patients believe they are suffering from arthritis or even fibromyalgia when they first begin experiencing pain.  This is why it is so important to visit a chiropractor who can help you understand the underlying cause of your pain.  Dr. Niblo can also help if you are experiencing neck pain or back pain.  Sometimes these symptoms occur together and can even cause headaches.  Do not give up on your quality of life - talk to the professionals with Norfolk Chiropractic who can get you and your body back on track.

Treatments for Sciatic Pain

Sciatic pain usually resolves within a couple weeks or a couple months.  A chiropractor can perform decompression therapy to help relieve the pain as the nerves heal.  A disc herniation can occur whether you have been in an accident or you are just getting older.  Visiting a chiropractor could be the best solution.  Norfolk Chiropractic specializes in all types of spinal problems.  Headaches, neck pain or back pain is usually the result of some type of misalignment in the vertebrae.  You do not have to live with pain.  Friends or relatives may fear you have fibromyalgia, but a chiropractic assessment can get to the root of the cause.

Norfolk Chiropractic can treat sciatic pain with decompression adjustments and exercise.  If you begin experiencing neck pain, or what you think is arthritis, you will need to speak with Dr. Scott Niblo.  Do not ignore the symptoms.  Sometimes surgery may be required, but if you do not like the thought of surgery for back pain, a chiropractic decompression treatment may help you find the same results.

If you are no longer able to participate in your favorite activities because of back or neck pain, call the office to find out if Dr. Niblo can help.  Sciatic pain can be annoying, but with treatment you can get back to your normal routine in no time.
